| | During its existence, CUCA was responsible for many key city and county-wide victories in the areas of Education, Drugs and Crime, Economic Development, and Race and Interfaith Relations.
Victories included:
 | Negotiated a $25 million Neighborhood Reinvestment and Revitalization Agreement with Barnett Bank for new housing in redlined areas of the
city. |
 | Through 2 "Hot Spot Card" campaigns, helped the police to identify and close approximately 50 locations where drug and crime activity was taking place. |
 |
Reclaimed a city park from neglect, drug trafficking, and prostitution, returning it to the neighborhood for the use of local children and
families. |
 | Sponsored workshops, trainings, and retreats designed to enhance racial and religious tolerance and appreciation for our
diversity. |
 | Challenged the public school system to pay attention to the needs of at-risk kids, stressing literacy, safe schools, and justice in suspension and expulsion policies. |
 | Beginning in 2003, in coalition with Concerned Organizations for Quality
Education for Black Students (COQEBS), led the effort to urge the Pinellas
County School Board to perform a nationwide search for the most qualified
Superintendent of Pinellas County Schools.
